CELEBRATING REV. DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR: This weekend offers an opportunity to reflect on the writings and speeches of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, especially his words that are more challenging for white Christians in the U.S. to hear. Let us take this opportunity to listen deeply and sit with the message of one of his more challenging writings-"Letter from a Birmingham Jail." You can read the text by clicking the link, or watch the video below which presents King's letter (read by friends of Red Letter Christians). It is vital that we do this reflection, as we live in a time when white supremacist political forces are actively undoing the progress of the civil rights movement. This weekend, let us celebrate King's birth, his life, and think about how we will join in the important work for justice for all.
