Today, for our worship time, we invite you to think about the Bible. How might we learn more about what the Bible is? How can we learn to think wisely about the Bible? Today's message comes from bible scholar Dr. Pete Enns, who speaks about how today's scripture reading from 2 Timothy 3:16-17 is sometimes used in ways that hide it's context or that use it negatively as a "proof text." But there are other ways to understand the Bible, which can be truly inspirational for our faith and life, providing wisdom and helping us see how God meets us as we study the scriptures.
Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NRSVUE
All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 so that the person of God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.
